Reusable Teacher Planner

Since I am in the process of gathering information and buying curriculum for this next year I decided to make my own Teacher Planner. I had a hard time finding one that had everything I wanted in it, so making my own only made since! I wanted one that I could add and pull things out to make it work for me and for others!

So here is my Reusable Teacher Planner! 

It can be used over and over again! It is 8 x 10 in size for plenty of room to write!

I left the months and dates out and you can add them in each year to make it work every year! 

It includes 5 different cover options! 

It has extra pages like supply list, reading list, schedule and curriculum, grading chart, grade tracker, and attendance tracker!

It also includes monthly and weekly pages that are ready to print on front and back of the paper! 

You add the months and dates so that you can reuse it year after year!!

Christmas Shopping List

Christmas shopping season is here and with that I like to have a nice list that I can easily track what gifts I have bought, what I need, and what needs to be wrapped still. 

This printable makes all of that easy peasy! 

 

At the top I place the person's name that I am shopping for. Then I list the gifts and prices as I find them. On the left side under the little present; I check when the item has been wrapped. The right side I check under the check mark when I have completed everything that deals with that gift. 

This process really has helped me when shopping for my husband, my kids, and family!

Black Friday Preparations

When shopping on Black Friday/Thursday there is a lot to get prepared for. Here are my tips from past years of shopping Black Friday. 

I always start with setting a budget. If money is no object than skip this step. For me having a budget keeps me from over spending and buying things I don't need. 

Once my budget is set it is time to start looking through all of the Ads that have leaked at this point. I never wait until Thanksgiving Day to start my planning. Start now. There are many sites online that share the leaked ads. My favorite is BFads.net.

At this point I start to make a list of items I need for gifts or things I have been waiting to buy. I list the item, the price, and the time the store opens. Some stores have their sales in shifts so this is important for me to know what time and what items are on sale during that shift. 

Another helpful tip I was given several years ago is to ask a Store Manager if they have a Black Friday Map. Some managers will share the layout of the store and where items will be, so by having that map available. You will be able to prepare even more for the rush and more likely to get the items you want. 

~Actual Day~

Be prepared for cold weather if you live in a state that gets cold. 

There are going to be long lines to get in the store and to get out of the store. 

If you can have a team of people with you, you will be able to get in stores and out of stores faster. You can split up and shop and then meet together to check out.

If you are in a team have a set meeting place for everyone ahead of the actual day. 

Have your checkout method ready when in line. There is nothing worse than being in a hurry and that one person in line isn't ready and is having to fish through a purse or pocket for credit card or money. This is not a time to even have a purse on you as the crowds are huge and they tend to just be in the way. If you can carry your money in your pocket or cards in your pocket that is best. 

Once you all have checked out head to the vehicles. If you are in a SUV bring blankets to cover your items. Theft is high during this time as they know most people out are shopping. 

And last but not least Have Fun! 

If you don't get the item you wanted that is okay. 

It's not like they won't ever have the item again.

A tip for those that hate Black Friday shopping most deals are live on store websites the Sunday before! 

I know I will be doing my Black Friday shopping online this year!

 No crowds for me this year!

October Cleaning Challenge- Weekend Recap

Day Four- Cabinets

Day Five- Mirrors

Day Six- Window Sill

Day Four was to cleaning cabinets. I just chose one to share and that is our main kitchen cabinet. This cabinet holds our plates, bowls, and cups. It has also turned into our "junk drawer". We don't have enough drawers to actually have a junk drawer so this cabinet always seems to be the place things get shoved. Not any longer!

My first step was to pull everything out of the cabinet. Then I wiped the shelves down. It seemed like so much stuff when it was all sitting on the counter than when looking into the cabinet. 

 

Then I decided function was important with where I put things back. The items on the top shelf aren't used very often and I wanted my kids to be able to reach their cups easier so the switch was made. Everything seems better organized now. Next step is new dishes in the coming month (just have to find the ones I want as red is being dismissed from my kitchen and grays and turquoise are coming in!). 

Day Five was cleaning mirrors. We have one bathroom mirror so this wasn't hard to chose what to share with y'all!  By the looks of this mirror my kids must have competition on who can either spit the hardest in the sink or who can spit the highest on the mirror because from top to bottom is spit marks from toothpaste. Boys! It was definitely time to clean this mirror.

I wiped it down with some dollar store glass cleaner that has vinegar in it and it shines now! No more looking around the spit marks! Let's see how long this lasts. 

Today is Day Six and it is window sills. I just shared one as pretty much they all looked the same. Dusty and dirty from having the windows open and this lovely Oklahoma winds that seem to be filled with dirt! I sprayed with cleaner and let it soaked.

 

Then I just wiped it up and it was clean as can be! This is definitely something I need to add to my weekly chores as they were horrible!

October Cleaning Challenge- Day Three

 

Day Three- Fridge

 

Today the challenge is to clean our fridge! This was not a hard challenge at all because it is the day before grocery shopping here and well our fridge was pretty bare. 

 

This is our fridge. Can't get a frontal view of the whole thing as our kitchen is so small.

The inside of our fridge right now is drinks, leftovers, condiments, croutons, butter, eggs, and lunch meats. Everything just seems to get thrown in there without a spot that it goes. So it was pretty much a mess.

 

The freezer was a mess as we don't use it very much (other than for fast cook food items that are easy to make or frozen fruit for smoothies) since we have a deep freezer in the garage. 

 I am much happier now that everything is in a specific spot and much neater looking. I might look in the fridge a lot more just to see how neat it looks. While I was moving things around I wiped the shelves down with a Clorox wipe.

  I went ahead and tackled our indoor freezer (not even going to try the deep freezer right now, maybe another day. So everything is a bit neater in there, too!

October Cleaning Challenge- Day One

 Day One- Front Entry

Today starts our October Cleaning Challenge! 

My front entry way is very small and includes a coat closet. I went ahead and cleaned it as well since it is considered part of our entry way.  I don't use the coat closet very much as I keep most of my shoes in our bedroom but it mainly is used for purses, backpacks, coats, and shoes. My kids are the main users of this closet. Right now it also stores our 2014 Halloween costumes. 

It was very much in need of cleaning as I have neglected it for awhile. My kids have everything just thrown in there. Here is what it looked like before I touched it.

My first step was to pull everything out that was on the floor. I left everything that was hanging as it was where it was supposed to be at this time. That shoe bucket is embarrassing!

 After that I swept and steam mopped the floors.

I love my steam mop except for when it comes to small places like this closet. I then resorted to scrubbing with the Clorox wipes to get around the edges and in the corners. Looks much better!

 

Once I was done with that and was wishing I could stop because I knew that the next part was shoe sorting. I kept on going with it and tackled this mound of shoes, pool floats (who knows why they were in there), and kids jackets that never get hung up.

 

The bucket of shoes looked much better so I placed it back in the closet. Hung up my purses which some how managed to get in the bucket of shoes. Then hung up the jackets that were needing to be hung. 

The closet now looks much better as the shoes are nice and neat in the bucket. I moved our boots to the top shelf. Everything looks so clean and organized! I love it!

 And of course the final picture of the front door and closet closed, which also looks amazing!

I am so happy with what I did on the first day of this challenge!

October Cleaning Challenge

As October starts next month, I am reminded that Holiday Season is only a couple months away. With that comes company! This is the time of year that I deep clean my house. Most people do it in Spring but I love the feeling of having a clean house during the holidays!

So I decided I'd have a little fun with it and come up with a Cleaning Challenge that we can all do together!

Who doesn't love a clean house especially when family and friends will be at your house to celebrate the Holidays!

Office Update

I haven't posted in a couple weeks as I was pretty much having to lay down as I threw my back out pretty bad. It started feeling better last Friday. So this weekend I have been super busy getting back to my office remodel!

Just a few sneak peeks of my projects I have started.

I cleaned out the closet. It went from all of this stuff

to this nice cleaned out closet. Will show finished results soon!

I re-purposed this frame.

And bought my first roll of washi tape!!! I am now and addict! And made these clothespins!
